Dwell on Design time! This past weekend was Dwell magazine’s 7th design conference held at the LA Convention Center, and we went over to take pictures of the highlights of the bath and kitchen section of the show.

Organic lines and natural materials were big this year, and both concepts made themselves known in the rundown below. Click past the jump to see what they had to offer.

Duravit had a strong showing this year, debuting a new concept for a complete vanity solution. Their Onto collection eliminates the need for multiple experts to install a multi-material countertop with undermount sinks. Normally you’d need a carpenter for the wooden portion, a plumber for the piping and a general contractor for the installation of the whole thing once it’s put together.  Duravit has developed pre-made counters with precut holes that can match a wide variety of undermount sinks that will set flush with the surface beautifully. The vanity itself mounts directly to the wall, leaving plenty of space underneath for storage or additional cabinets.

Kohler has taken a bold step into total luxury systems with its new washlet, the Numi. It was so popular they had to have three on display and two people showing it off constantly throughout the day.

This tankless, square washlet comes with an iPod like device that controls its extra features. When approached, the Numi automatically opens, and a sensor can be tripped to allow standing usage of it. The remote control affects the bidet function, including its pattern, direction and motion. It also provides ambient light, heating, drying and integrated music playing. Check out the video below to see a

Wet Style integrated natural textures with their tub sets, adding wooden rest bars and surrounding enclosures for their tubs, giving a more natural, earthy feeling to a bathroom.

They’ve integrated this with their new cabinet collection they’ve released at the show this year, the M Collection. It’s shown here with their B Collection Sink. These are really handsome, finely sanded wood with lines that give it a modern cut, despite the traditional appearance of the wood grain.

The last thing I wanted to point out is the big, bold booth Brizo had. They didn’t show at Dwell on Design last year, and this year they had a giant space showing off many new products, as well as a wall proclaiming their design collaboration with Jason Wu.
