Your home looks absolutely stunning. You just had new tiles installed in your kitchen and bathroom. But now people are coming in and they are starting to look a little dingy. And over time the grout lines become darker and dirty. It can become quite a chore to clean the grout and hiring a professional can cost a fortune especially if you have a larger area. So, what do you do about cleaning the grout and getting those tiles sparkling.

There are a number of things you can do to keep your tile and grout clean. One thing you can do is purchase a steam cleaner. A steam cleaner will steam your floors and grout to loosen the dirt for easy cleaning. You don’t have to buy an expensive one as all will serve its purpose. And if you are like me you try to clean without all of the harsh chemicals.

There also some homemade grout cleaner you can make that will clean great without the use of chemicals. You can make a cleaning paste using 1 part of water to 3 parts of baking soda. This paste should be applied to grout then sprayed down with diluted vinegar. Scrub it with a brush, rinse it, then wipe it dry. For another homemade solution In a bucket combine a small box of baking soda, approximately 1 cup of Oxiclean, and enough peroxide and lemon juice (2 parts peroxide to one part lemon juice) to make a thin paste. Although these solutions may seem to be more work, they work wonders for your dirty tile.
